John Keeley
I joined the Police back in 1995 and became a trainer in my first few weeks.
I joined the Police with an extensive Martial Arts background and at that time the Officer Safety Training programme had just been launched, so everything dovetailed.
I spent the next 20 years in counter terrorism, protection and firearms as both an operator and trainer.
After leaving the Police I spent six months heading up a training team based in Tripoli, Libya working for DfID and training Libyan Protection Units.
Since then I have worked in the private security industry on close protection, security consultations, managing door teams and training the myriad of disciplines that modern security requires.
I am an expert court witness on use-of-force legislation as well as psychology and physiology of combat stress and fight or flight.
Today, I am working with TMA Security Services, providing Continuous Professional Development training to Facilities Management and other organisations.
I bring a large amount of real world experiences and can draw on many relatable and useful anecdotal situations to further enhance the learning experience.
I am considered a subject matter expert, and that expertise means training sessions can be more fluid to enhance and personalise the learning outcomes.
I am passionate about security training, and I am committed to ensuring that everyone gains from my sessions, providing me which provides me with a great sense of satisfaction.
